Recently, Federal Practice Group Partner Debra D’Agostino was featured
on Government Matters where she discussed the differences between the
federal government and the private sector as they relate to employee rights.
She highlighted the fact that federal employees have the right to free
speech – that they don’t lose those rights just because they
are working for the government. However, their protection hinges on a
number of factors such as whether they are voicing their opinion as a
private citizen or as a government worker, for example.
